The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry accepts cash and credit cards at the time of your appointment and also accepts most private insurance plans, as well as Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care. Student clinic fees generally run less than what you may find within the Twin Cities community. Please do not hesitate to ask our staff about making dental care affordable and working on financial plans so you can receive the dental care you need.

CareCredit financing available
The School of Dentistry now accepts CareCredit. CareCredit is used by more than 150,000 enrolled providers around the country and has been offering dental financing for 26 years. The school offers interest free and installment plans. See if you pre-qualify.
Payment and Financing Options with the School of Dentistry
The University of Minnesota Dental Clinics accepts cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit. CareCredit transactions must be processed in person at the clinic unless payment is made through the CareCredit online portal. Payment/co-payment of services is due at the time of your appointment.

Gold and fixed prosthodontics requires one-third of the payment down before treatment, one-third of the payment halfway through treatment, and the balance prior to completion. Removable prosthodontics requires one-third of the payment down before treatment, one-third at the teeth selection appointment, and the balance at the time of denture insertion.

We are an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies; however, in many cases you may still be covered under your policy. If you have out-of-network coverage, we will be happy to submit insurance claims on your behalf. Please provide us with current insurance information each time your plan is renewed.
